Deputies say man stabbed by oil coworker in Greeley; suspect charged with attempted murder

GREELEY, Colo. - Sheriff’s deputies said an oil worker was arrested Thursday morning after stabbing his co-worker in Greeley.

Upon arriving at the scene, Weld County deputies found the man suffering from multiple stab wounds around his neck and head.

According to deputies, a worker at the scene said that he witnessed the event and identified the attacker as David Baldizan, a co-worker who was still somewhere nearby at the oil well site.

Baldizan surrendered to deputies and was booked into the Weld County Jail on charges of first degree assault and attempted first degree murder.

The victim, whose identity has not yet been released due to the pending investigation, was taken to an area hospital. Investigators said he was an acquaintance of Baldizan. His current condition is still unknown.
