Deputies: Naked CU student cuffed, rescued between 2nd and 3rd Flatirons at Chautauqua Park

BOULDER, Colo. - A University of Colorado student who suddenly stripped naked between two of the Flatirons on Sunday afternoon had to be restrained with handcuffs to be rescued, deputies said.

Someone called 911 at 5:24 p.m. and said a hiker was high on mushrooms and in distress near the 3rd flatiron at Chautauqua Park, deputies said.

Paramedics, deputies, park rangers, firefighters and members of the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group responded.

Deputies said they found the woman naked,  and being physically restrained by her roommates,  up high between the 2nd and 3rd Flatirons.

"The victim had to be restrained with handcuffs, and it took a number of rescuers to secure her into a litter," according to the Boulder County Sheriff's Office.

Rescuers carried the victim to the closest road. She was taken to the hospital where she was treated and released.

The victim, Taylor Powers, 21, was issued a summons for unlawful consumption of a controlled substance, deputies said.

"Further charges are pending against others involved," according to the sheriff's office.
