BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. - Authorities say a mother accused of bringing her baby with her to rob a pharmacy in Lyons has been arrested.
Investigators said 35-year-old Abigail Jo Johnson was booked into the Boulder County Jail Monday and charged with multiple counts of aggravated robbery, menacing, theft and child abuse in connection with the March 3 robbery at the St. Vrain Pharmacy in Lyons.
The Boulder County Sheriff's Office said a neighbor of the suspect saw a news story about the robbery with surveillance photographs of Johnson on the Internet, contacted her and convinced her to turn herself in to authorities.
Johnson was armed with a large handgun when she entered the pharmacy and demanded prescription medication, according to investigators.
Detectives said Johnson left her 9-month-old infant in a pickup truck during the robbery, but there happened to be second child in the pharmacy at the time.
After Johnson was handed the medications, she left the store and drove off with her baby.
The gun used in the robbery has not been recovered.
Deputies said Johnson was also charged with two counts of child abuse because of the baby left in the pickup during the robbery and the second child who was in the pharmacy.
