Denver's big blue bear cleaned up after vandals hit sculpture with green paint

DENVER - Denver's big blue bear is looking more blue again.

City workers spent Wednesday giving the bear a shower to clean green paint off the sculpture.

The art work outside the Colorado Convention Center was vandalized Sunday. Someone left the 40-foot sculpture with a large splatter of bright green paint on its back.

The sculpture, officially entitled "I See What You Mean," was created by artist Lawrence Argent and installed in 2005. The bear peers into the main lobby of the Colorado Convention Center with its front paws and nose pressed against the outer window.

City officials say the vandalism is an open police investigation.
