DENVER – The cost of renting a home or apartment in Denver continued to rise last month.
Overall, rents in the Mile High City were up 1.2 percent in June, according to the latest report from rental listing site ApartmentList.
The median cost of a 1-bedroom rental is now $1,050 and a 2-bedroom rents for $1,330.
Compared to the same time last month, rents are up 2.4 percent in Denver and 3.5 percent statewide. Nationally, rents are up 2.9 percent.
Rent increases aren’t limited to Denver proper. Cities across the metro area have seen increases, with rents in Lone Tree growing the fastest – 6.1 percent year-over-year. Lone Tree also has the most expensive rent in the metro area, with a median of $1,980 for a 2-bedroom unit.
It may come as a surprise to some that Denver actually has some of the lowest rents in the metro area, according to ApartmentList’s data.
