DENVER - Denver Police briefly shut down Federal Boulevard in both directions at 26th Avenue to investigate a stabbing.
Officers on the scene say the injured victim came to the fire station at that intersection from a nearby apartment. A fireman assisted her and she was then taken to the hospital.
According to the department's Twitter account, the victim was taken to a hospital in serious condition. Her injuries, however, were called "non-life threatening."
The suspect is at large, police added.
CEC Middle College was placed on lockdown due to police activity, according to Denver Public Schools spokeswoman Kristi Armstrong. The school is located at 2650 Eliot St., just a block east of the stabbing scene.
The lockdown was lifted after about an hour, just minutes before police announced Federal Boulevard had reopened.
