Denver Police officer hit by suspected drunk driver during traffic stop

DENVER - A Denver Police officer was injured late Monday night when his car was hit by a suspected drunk driver.

Investigators said the officer was conducting a traffic stop on eastbound Interstate 70 at Havana around midnight when he was hit.

The officer was taken to the hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening, police said.

Denver Police tweeted that the driver who hit the officer may have been DUI. The driver was taken into custody, but police did not release any other information.
