Denver Police looking for bank robber who escaped a US Bank in a taxi cab

DENVER - Police believe a robber used a unique getaway vehicle on Tuesday morning -- a taxi cab.

The man robbed the US Bank in Denver on Mississippi Avenue and South Broadway around 10:30 a.m., police said.

Witnesses said the man got away by jumping into a Metro Cab.

The robber is described as a white man in his 50s who was wearing wire rim glasses and going bald.

The suspect is 6'2 with a thin build. He was wearing a black and white striped shirt and blue jeans.

Police are contacting Metro Cab to see if they can track down the robber through the cab driver.
