DENVER - Police are investigating the death of an infant from central Denver as a possible homicide.

Police said they were called to the 31st and Lawrence streets area of Curtis Park at 1:12 a.m. to assist an ambulance that had been called for a 3-month-old baby not breathing.

The infant was pronounced dead at a local hospital less than 10 minutes later.

The cause and manner of death of the victim will be released by the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner after an autopsy.

Additional information will be forthcoming pending further investigation, police said.
