DENVER - Two Denver police officers and a case worker went to the hospital, after concern they had been exposed to a toxic chemical.
Denver police cordoned off an area near Colfax & Pearl Tuesday morning.
It was initially reported that a man tried to commit suicide with mercury, but investigators say it turned out to be a false alarm.
Investigators determined the officers were not exposed to anything harmful and the officers were not checked out at the hospital.
The Denver Fire Department confirmed it investigated reports of toxic fumes, but officials said they didn't find anything. The state health department will take over the investigation.
