DENVER - Two adults charged with multiple counts of child abuse are due in court Tuesday to hear the charges against them.
Investigators say four children, aged 2, 4, 5 and 6, found living in unsanitary conditions in a Denver home were malnourished, not toilet trained, and couldn't speak.
The charges against Wayne Sperling, 66, and Lorinda Bailey, 35, allege the children were unreasonably placed in a situation that posed a threat to their health.
The children are now in protective care.
Sperling and Bailey were each charged with four counts of felony child abuse. They remain jailed under $5,000 bonds.
