DENVER – The Mile High City has landed near the top of a list of the best cities in which to spend one's golden years.

Financial services website WalletHub put Denver in the number 8 spot on its best lists of cities for retirees.

WalletHub looked at things like affordability, availability of senior-friendly activities, quality and availability of health care services and overall quality of life when coming up with its rankings. Weather factored especially heavily in the analysis, as did the cost of living.

Unsurprisingly, Florida, which has a reputation as being a haven for retirees, took the top three spots on the list. Orlando was in first place, followed by Tampa and Miami. Other cities with warm climates, like Scottsdale, Atlanta and Honolulu, also ranked highly.

Denver wasn’t the only city to make the list – Colorado Springs ranked 25th and Aurora came in at number 88.

Here are the 10 best cities for retirees, according to WalletHub:

1. Orlando, FL
2. Tampa, FL
3. Miami, FL
4. Scottsdale, AZ
5. Atlanta, GA
6. Salt Lake City, UT
7. Honolulu, HI
8. Denver, CO
9. Austin, TX
10. Las Vegas, NV
