DENVER – Firefighters with the Denver Fire Department say no one was injured after a home went up in flames in southwest Denver Friday afternoon.

Billowing white smoke could be seen coming from the area of West Sumac Avenue and South Lamar Street at around 3:30 p.m. Firefighters immediately responded to the residence and attacked the flames from multiple angles.

Greg Pixley, a spokesperson for the Denver Fire Department told Denver7 crews would be at the house for a while as the home fire would “require a lot of involvement" due to the magnitude of the blaze.

Speaking to Denver7's Jaclyn Allen, Pixley said crews would remain at the scene to check the structure as the home wasn't very stable following the blaze.

Pixley also said the fire was reported by someone from inside the home, but that no one was injured.
