HOUSTON – Volunteers with MaxFund Dog Adoption Center drove 15 hours to Houston to bring back dogs rescued during Harvey. Volunteers brought back eight dogs but say they’ll likely bring back more.

MaxFund Volunteer Bethany Ferguson says the rescued dogs were taken from tents set up in Houston parking lots.

“They are basically in tent cities out in parking lots. Every 15 minutes there is ten or more so dogs being relinquished. It’s nonstop and it goes from dawn till one or two in the morning,” Ferguson said.

The dogs won’t be up for adoption till they get medically evaluated. The process could take up to two weeks.
