DENVER – Workers at Denver International Airport are planning to join those at other airports across the country in protesting against three private contracting companies Wednesday.

The workers, who clean airplane cabins, handle baggage and assist with passengers in wheelchairs, want the companies to address concerns about pay, working conditions and safety.

Their complaints are aimed at contractors PrimeFlight, G2 and AirServ, which serve American Airlines, JetBlue and United.

Workers say they’ve repeatedly raised concerns about unsanitary and unsafe working conditions but the companies have not taken steps to solve any of the problems.

As many as 150 workers plan to walk off the job around 11:30 a.m.

Workers at Newark Liberty International Airport went on strike Tuesday night and workers at other New York-area airports planned to walk off the job Wednesday morning.

As of Wednesday morning, the companies had yet to respond to requests for comment.
