ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. — After the death of a youth in a crash in Arapahoe County, police are asking the public to come forward with tips.
Officers say they're working to learn how the crash unfolded late Tuesday evening between a 2016 Hyundai driven by Christopher Tetley, 24, and a 2011 Audi driven by an Aurora teen and a juvenile passenger.
Police say they believe Tetley consumed alcohol and drove, saying they suspect Tetley drove through a red light into the Aurora youth while that driver made a legal left turn onto East Orchard Road from S. Genoa Street.
The teen driver was rushed to the Medical Center of Aurora before being rushed to Swedish Medical Center with serious injuries.
A youth who was in the front seat of the teen's car was rushed to Parker Adventist Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
Tetley, the driver behind the wheel of the Hyundai, is recovering from serious injuries.
Police are continuing to investigate the accident. Anybody with information is asked to call the Colorado State Patrol at 303-239-4501 with reference to case 1C-17-2332.
