Deadly stabbing in Longmont: Lafayette teen killed, 2 teens in 'very serious' condition

LONGMONT - One teenager is dead and two others are seriously hurt after a stabbing at a party in Longmont early Sunday morning.

All three victims are white males.

The teen who was killed was a 19 year old from Lafayette. Jeff Satur with the Longmont Police Department said he died at the scene.

The other victims, ages 17 and 18, were rushed to the Longmont United Hospital where they both underwent surgery, Satur said. Both victims are in very serious condition.

Police said there were about 20 boys and girls between the ages of 16 and 21 at the party at 712 Francis St. when officers arrive a little after 2 a.m.

Some were consuming marijuana and alcohol, Satur said.

The parents of the 18 year old who was hosting the party were out of state.

As the party progressed, an argument broke out and moved outside, Satur said. That's when the three teens were stabbed.

Police arrested Secundino Martinez, 20, less than two hours later at the Walmart on E. Ken Pratt Blvd.

Police brought in Front Range Rescue Dogs to help with the search for the knife.  They brought in four teams to help in the search.
