BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. – One person died and others were injured in a multi-vehicle crash that happened Monday afternoon on Highway 93 south of Eldorado Springs.

The crash happened around 4 p.m. along the highway, between Highways 128 and 72. The crash caused a grass fire near the site, which has closed the highway altogether for the time being.

Colorado State Patrol confirmed at least one person had died and that others were injured, but could not say how many.

Later Monday, CSP said the crash involved a BMW and a semi-truck, and said the driver of the BMW was the one killed in the crash. The driver of the semi suffered minor injuries, CSP said.

The Boulder County Sheriff’s office advised drivers who usually take the route to find another way home Monday afternoon.
