BOULDER, Colo. – Two University of Colorado Football players are facing charges after allegedly fighting each other outside a downtown Boulder bar. The alleged fight occurred just hours after the Buff’s victory over Utah Saturday night.

Police found Abdul Jaleel Awini, 23, unconscious outside The Walrus bar, located at 1911 11th Street. According to a police report, he was found with Ziploc bags with suspected cocaine. He is facing charges of possession with intent to distribute.

Police say tight end Christopher Hill, 21, punched Awini after the 23-year-old confronted Hill outside the bar. A police report states that Awini was upset that he was kicked out of The Walrus for his intoxication level. Awini blamed Hill for being removed from the business, the report states.

A witness told police that Awini told Hill, "I'm going to f--- you up. You got me kicked out." Hill told police that he was worried that "Awini was going to punch him, so he punched Awini." Hill is being charged with third-degree assault.

The two Buffs players were booked into the Boulder County Jail.

Denver7 partner The Denver Post reports that Awini, a senior who has played multiple positions with the Buffs, has been suspended from the team. Hill will not play in Friday’s game.

Editor's Note: An earlier version of this story inaccurately stated that Hill was upset at Awini for being kicked out of the bar. Denver7 regrets the error.
