Crews contain grass fire at base of Flagstaff Mountain in Boulder; Flagstaff Mountain Road re-opened

BOULDER, Colo. - Fire crews have contained a grass fire at the base of Flagstaff Mountain near 5th Street in Boulder.

The half-acre blaze was first reported at about 3:30 p.m.Flagstaff Mountain Road was closed to allow firefighters access, according to the Boulder County Sheriff's Office.

Boulder County Open Space tweeted about 50 minutes later that the road was re-opened.

Police Department spokeswoman Kim Kobel has tweeted that the cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
