ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. – Traffic was snarled on northbound I-25 near Thornton Friday afternoon after a man was hit and killed trying to run across the interstate near 104th Street around 3:15 p.m.

Northglenn police say the adult man was hit by an oncoming vehicle in the HOV lane and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Traffic was backed up for hours before the road was again reopened around 7:45 p.m.
