Hazmat called to crash on I-70 near Deer Trail

DEER TRAIL, Colo. - Hazmat crews have been called to a crash on westbound Interstate 70 near Deer Trail.

The Colorado State Patrol says there were two crashes in the area, near milemarker 327.

Both crashes involve semi trucks.

The first crash involved a tanker carrying liquid helium. The Colorado State Patrol said that tanker is leaking some vapors and HAZMAT teams have been called out.

Two people in the tanker were injured in that crash.

The Colorado State Patrol is also investigating a second crash involving a tractor-trailer in the same area.

One person was injured in that crash, according to CSP.
