AURORA, Colo. - The Arapahoe County Coroner has identified a man who was found shot in a pickup Wednesday night.
Larry Morehead, 32, of Aurora was sitting in his red Dodge Ram in the parking lot of an apartment complex at 14th and Xanadu, when he was shot at multiple times.
The victim was transported to University Hospital and was pronounced dead a short time later.
Aurora police say they don't know the motive behind the shooting, nor do they know if it was random.
The shooting occurred at 11:55 p.m. Wednesday.
Witnesses told police they saw a man flee from the scene immediately after the shooting. Patrol officers and two K-9 units canvassed the surrounding neighborhood but were unable to locate the subject.
Neighbors told 7NEWS they didn't recognize the victim and hadn't seen his pickup truck parked in the lot before.
APD's Major Crimes Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Investigators are handling the investigation.
