Cops looking for punch-throwing Boulder Theater concertgoer and fight witnesses

BOULDER, Colo. - Do you remember anyone wearing a fake beard and a European security guard-like costume for Halloween?

Police are looking for someone like that who is accused of getting into the middle of an argument at a concert and punching a woman in the nose.

Police were called to the Boulder Theater on Nov. 1 during the DeVotchka concert.

A woman told police she was arguing with another woman who bumped into her when suddenly the woman shoved her backwards.

The victim told police she was then grabbed from behind. She said a man punched her in the nose and disappeared.

Her nose was broken, police said.

Witnesses said the punch-throwing suspect was a white man between 5 feet 9 inches tall and 6 feet 2 inches tall with brown hair and a brown beard.

The victim's boyfriend said the beard looked fake.

The man was wearing a button-down shirt and wire-rimmed glasses. The victim's friend said the outfit/costume reminded her of a European security guard.

After six weeks of investigation, police are asking for the public's help to find the man and any other witnesses.

Detective Heather Frey is the lead investigator on the case and she can be reached at 303-441-3369.
