DENVER – With temperatures coming close to triple digits this weekend, many will be seeking out ways to escape the heat.
Whether it’s splashing around in the water or heading to higher elevation, there are plenty of ways to loosen the sweltering sun’s grip on Colorado.
Swim, splash or slide
It’s the best way to stay cool, and there are plenty of places to choose from. Some of the most affordable parks include Centennial Center Park, Pirate’s Cove, and The Bay in Broomfield. Head to the mountains

Caves are cool, literally. So, gather your gear and go spelunking this weekend. Colorado is home to several caverns worth exploring and most are open to the public.
