Complaint against gun lobbyist remains unresolved

DENVER - Colorado lawmakers investigating a complaint against a gun lobbyist over a confrontation with a legislator say they're unable to reach a final conclusion on the matter because the lobbyist refused to fully participate in the inquiry.
Republican Rep. Cheri Gerou voted against new gun restrictions, but she says her constituents had received misinformation questioning her stance. She filed an ethics complaint in February, saying that a lobbyist for Rocky Mountain Gun Owners threatened her with negative campaign mailers after she confronted him and cursed at him.
Lawmakers say in a report Tuesday that there are unanswered questions, including whether the lobbyist intended to influence Gerou's vote on the House floor the day of the confrontation. The report says another committee should consider issuing a subpoena to compel the lobbyist to testify further.
