Commerce City patrol car loses control, hits oncoming snow plow

2 prisoners inside were not seriously hurt

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. - A Commerce City police patrol car lost control on Highway 2 near East 88th Avenue and collided with an oncoming snow plow early Tuesday morning.

The officer was transporting an adult male and an adult female to the Adams County Detention facility at the time, according to Lt. Dennis  Moon with the Commerce City Police Department. They were not seriously hurt in the crash, but were taken to the hospital as a precaution.

The officer and snow plow driver were not injured.

The accident is under investigation by the Colorado State Patrol, which is the standard policy for the Commerce City Police Department.
