SANTA ROSA, Calif. - A Central City man was arrested in Alabama in connection with the shooting deaths of three men who had wanted to buy a large amount of marijuana.
The Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports 46-year-old Mark Cappello of Central City, Colo., was being held without bail Monday on a fugitive from justice warrant.
Cappello is suspected of killing three men on Feb. 5 inside a home near Forestville, Calif.
Sonoma County Sheriff's Office said 42-year-old Todd Klarkowski of Boulder, Colo., 26-year-old Raleigh Butler of Petaluma, Calif., and 46-year-old Richard Lewin of Huntington, N.Y., were gunned down in the home.
Authorities said the three men had arranged to buy a large amount of marijuana at the California home where Butler's mother lived.
It's unclear how investigators tied Cappello to the murders. Cappello remained in jail in Mobile, Ala., and was awaiting extradition.
