Colorado wine industry continues to grow

Colorado wine drinkers are buying more local wines and spending more to support the homegrown industry.

According to the Denver Post, sales of local wines jumped from $19 million in 2011 to $28 million last year.

Production in Colorado grew to 335,000 gallons, which is a 14 percent increase from the previous year.

Industry representatives say the growing numbers suggest a maturing market that is focusing more on quality and building a demand for local wine.
