The Pentagon is set to present to Congress Tuesday its much-anticipated and detailed plan for closing the detention facility at Guantanamo Bay meeting a deadline set by the Senate Armed Services Committee.

Colorado is one of the states where the detainees could be housed. Officials from the Department of Defense toured Colorado's facilities last year including ADX Florence, aka Supermax, and the unused Centennial Correctional Facility in Canon City.

A spokeswoman for Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper told Denver7 reporter Marc Stewart the state has not received any notification of a decision.

The DoD also toured two facilities in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, and the Consolidated Naval Brig in Charleston, South Carolina.

Several Colorado lawmakers have expressed concern surrounding the plan, including Rep. Mike Coffman (R) and Sen. Michael Bennet (D) Colorado.

The Obama administration's plan was supposed to have been presented to Congress in mid-November, but was delayed so that financial assessments could be inserted into the report.
