Colorado Springs teen killed after falling off skateboard Saturday

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - A 13-year-old Colorado Springs boy died after falling off of his skateboard and hitting his head Saturday evening.
Police say the boy, whose name has not been released, was riding down Howard Avenue in the northeastern part of the city just before 6 p.m. Saturday when he lost control, hit a curb and hit his head when he was flung to the ground. The Gazette reports the teen was not wearing a helmet.
Emergency crews reported that the teen was unconscious and not breathing when they arrived on scene, according to the newspaper.
