Colorado Springs police officers use garden hose to fight house fire Saturday night

Police: Fire started after disturbance at the home

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado Springs police officers used a garden hose to help control a house fire until the fire department arrived Saturday night.

The fire started in the basement of a home in the 900 block of W. Cucharras St. at about 11:45 p.m.

Investigators say a person came to the victim's home and started a disturbance.

When the victim ran to get help, the person who caused the disturbance started the fire, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department blotter.

The person suspected of starting the fire left before police got there.

Police are still investigating.
