Colorado Springs police: 'Car hopping' burglars arrested

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Two teenagers who police say admitted to "car hopping" were arrested on Monday on trespassing charges.

The teens told officers that "car hopping" meant they were checking vehicles for unlocked doors. When they found one, they would rifle through the vehicle and take any items of value.

The teens were arrested after an officer found two vehicles that had been burglarized.

One teenager, Gabriel Land, 18, was booked into the county jail. The other teenager, a juvenile, was released to his parents.
