Colorado Springs man opens fire, drives away armed intruders; police seek 3 suspects

No one was injured in altercation

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - A Colorado Springs man opened fire on three armed intruders who allegedly broke into his home early Friday morning, driving them away.

Colorado Springs police officers were called to an apartment at 700 Tia Juana St. around 3 a.m. after receiving reports of a home invasion.

The victim said two men and one woman knocked on his front door. The resident said he did not know the people, so he locked the door and armed himself.

The victim told police that the intruders broke in and brandished a weapon. Fearing for his safety, the man opened fire, and the suspects fled.

No one was injured, and police identified all of the rounds from the victim's gun.

Police did not find the intruders.
