Colorado Springs boy hit by stray bullet in 'apparently random' shooting

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - A boy was inside a home in Colorado Springs when a bullet from an "apparently random" shooting hit him in the leg.

Police told the Colorado Springs Gazette that the boy was inside the home on the 100 block of Murray Boulevard, near Pikes Peak Avenue, when the gun was fired at the home just before midnight.

"It looks like a random act," Sgt. Korey Hutchison told the newspaper.

The Gazette adds that officers were already in the area of Murray Boulevard and Airport road to investigate reports of gunfire when they were notified about the injured boy.
