2 Air Force Academy graduates among 3 killed in Kyrgystan plane crash, Department of Defense says

SPOKANE, Wash. - Capt. Mark T. Voss and Capt. Victoria A. Pinckney, who both graduated from the Colorado Springs Air Force Academy, were among three airmen killed in a plane crash in Kyrgystan Friday.
The Department of Defense said that the three airmen flying a military tanker refueling plane in the mountains of Kyrgystan were from Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, Wash.
The airmen were assigned to the 93rd Air Refueling Squadron at the Washington Air Force base.
They died May 3, near Chon-Aryk, Kyrgyzstan, in the crash of a KC-135 aircraft.
The other person killed was 30-year-old Tech Sgt. Herman Mackey III of Bakersfield, Calif.
The military says the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
