Colorado lawmakers expected to vote on marijuana regulations, taxes as deadline quickly approaches

Lawmakers have until Wednesday to decide

DENVER - A Colorado Senate committee is expected to vote on marijuana regulations and taxes Friday as the decision deadline quickly approaches.

Lawmakers have until Wednesday to agree on regulations and tax rates for the newly legal drug. The Legislature is still bickering over whether to set a marijuana blood limit for drivers, and whether to require a limit on the size of marijuana growing operations and the number of pot shops.

If the Senate Finance Committee advances the regulations and taxes Friday, the full Senate must still debate the bills. Senators may work an unusual weekend to get the job done.
