DENVER - Connect for Health Colorado says more than 124,000 Coloradans have signed up for private health insurance coverage through the state exchange.
Connect for Health is a Colorado-based health exchange offering health insurance plans as part of the Affordable Care Act, nicknamed Obamacare. 14 states created exchanges. 36 other states are using the federal government's health care website and system.
During its first open enrollment period, Connect for Health Colorado said it offered 150 health plans for individuals and families through 10 different insurance companies.
The next enrollment period begins November 15. Until then, only small businesses and Coloradans with a life-changing event like the birth of a child or loss of coverage may enroll in health insurance.
