LONE TREE, Colo. - A death investigation closed part of the I-25/E-470/C-470 interchange during the Monday morning commute.
Just before 3:30 a.m., Lone Tree officers went to check on a report of a suicidal man driving a white Subaru. Officers found the vehicle on the westbound C-470 flyover from northbound I-25, but it was empty. Officers found the man lying on the westbound lanes of C-470. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man's identity is not being released until family members are notified.
Officers shut down the flyover and both lanes of C-470 underneath the flyover from about 4 a.m. to just after 7 a.m.
The ramp from northbound I-25 to westbound C-470 reopened at 6:30 a.m. after being shut down for more than an hour, CDOT reported.
Detectives are asking witnesses to call the Lone Tree Police Department at 303-339-8150 with information.
