ESTES PARK, Colo. - A group of climbers found a body below The Ledges on the Keyhole Route of Longs Peak, Friday morning.
At 7 a.m. one of the climbers called Rocky Mountain National Park rangers to report the discovery. When rangers arrived they confirmed that the remains were that of a deceased male, according to a news release sent out by the park.
The body was airlifted out to a helipad at Upper Beaver Meadows and then transferred to the Boulder County Coroner’s Office.
The incident is under investigation and no foul play is suspected, Kyle Patterson said in the release.
The name and age of the deceased have not been released.
