Climber rescued in dark at Eldorado Canyon State Park

BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. - Emergency personnel rescued a climber in the dark at Eldorado Canyon State Park Tuesday night.

Boulder County deputies, the Rocky Mountain Fire Department and Rocky Mountain Rescue Group were called to the park for a technical rescue at 8:05 p.m.

When they arrived, they found one climber who was OK, but a second climber had a possible broken ankle.

The first climber walked out with rescuers, but the second climber had to be brought down by the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group. The 26 year old was taken to a local hospital.

"Both climbers were experienced climbers and utilizing proper safety equipment when the accident occurred," officials with the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office said.
