COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - When the robber at a Subway restaurant on Monday morning demanded the employee open the store's safe, the clerk had some bad news for the thief, the safe had been taken in another robbery.
The robber went into the Subway Restaurant on Union Boulevard in Colorado Springs around 7 a.m. on Monday.
The clerk told police the robber wanted the money from the cash register and the safe. That's when the employee said they had to tell the robber the safe was gone.
The employee did give the robber the money from the cash register drawer and the robber ran off through the business' back door, police said.
The clerk said the robber was a white man in his 20's. He was about 6 feet tall with a thin build. He was wearing dark-colored hooded-jacket, dark pants and black ski mask with a single opening for both eyes.
