Arapahoe High School student Claire Davis would have turned 18 on Saturday. A new park was opened in her memory.
CENTENNIAL, Colo. - What started as just an idea five months ago is now a reality.
Clarity Commons Park -- now a part of Arapahoe High School -- was unveiled Saturday.
It's a place for students to reflect and remember Claire Davis. She was killed in a shooting at the school last December.
Davis died eight days after being shot Dec. 13 by a fellow student, after he walked into the school and began firing a shotgun.
"Claire wasn't just gift to her Dad and me, the best way we can hold on to that gift is to choose to love," said her mother, Desiree, at the unveiling.
Saturday would have been Claire's 18th birthday.
