Claire Davis, the Arapahoe High School Student fatally wounded by a classmate, will be celebrated next week with a memorial at the National Western Stock Show and Complex.
Davis was shot Dec. 13 at Arapahoe High School. She was taken to a hospital for care, but remained in a coma until she died Saturday.
She competed in a horse event at the stock show earlier this year, and was scheduled to compete again next month.
The Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. on Jan. 1 at the events center. There will be no charge for attending, but all attendees will be required to have a ticket issued through nationalwestern.com or the National Western Box Office. Tickets will become available beginning Dec. 27 at 10:00 a.m.
The stock show will also rename an event the "Claire Davis Memorial Gambler's Choice Horse Show" for 2014 and plans to observe a moment of silence prior to all ticketed horse shows.
The stock show runs from Jan. 11-26.
