DENVER - The gospel concert that was postponed because of a fire at a Denver church will be moved to Thursday evening.
Israel Houghton & New Breed will perform at The Potter's House Church of Denver, located at 9495 East Florida Avenue. The free concert is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
The Grammy-Award winning gospel singing group was originally scheduled to perform Wednesday evening but the church venue suffered a small roof fire around 11:53 a.m.
About 40 people were inside of The Potter's House at the time of the fire but they all got out of the building safely.
"We always appreciate the professionalism of firefighters and police, but their response today was especially welcome,” said Dr. Chris Hill, senior pastor of The Potter’s House of Denver. "A structural engineer has already inspected and approved the building as safe and sound. We are excited about Grammy-winning Israel & New Breed’s kickoff concert for the ‘Jesus at the Center’ national tour."
