CARR, Colo. - A child was released but two adults remain hospitalized for injuries sustained in an explosion that lifted the roof off their Weld County home.
The explosion was reported Sunday at 3:45 p.m., according to the Weld County Sheriff's Office. Witnesses reported seeing two men with serious burns running out of the home at 61673 Fourth St. in Carr.
"Everybody's hair was completely singed," neighbor Bruce Ransier said. "Neighbors showed up, they worked with the guys, hosed them down, tried to get them to cool off."
The two men remain in the hospital. According to sheriff's spokesman Steve Reams, one of the men has severe burns covering much of his body.
Reams also said investigators are still trying to determine exactly what caused the explosion. The sheriff's office previously said the cause was likely due to "criminal activity."
The child was taken into custody of Social Services.
