AURORA, Colo. - The city of Aurora's Household Chemical Roundup was shut down early Saturday afternoon and the Arapahoe County Bomb Squad called after a dangerous chemical was turned in during the event at the Aurora Central Facilities, 13645 E. Ellsworth Ave.
The Aurora Fire Department said five cups of Picric Acid was turned in and it was crystallized. Picric Acid is for industrial use. When crystallized, it can be explosive and is sensitive to shocks.
The acid will be disposed of by the bomb squad but the chemical roundup was closed for the remainder of the day.
The call came in just after noon.
