A bet is a bet.

After the Denver Broncos won Super Bowl 50, Mayor Hancock arranged for Charlotte Mayor Jennifer Roberts to participate in a day of service in Denver. Through Rebuilding Together, they served alongside AmeriCorps members and Senior Corps volunteers to refurbish a home in West Denver.

The project coincides with National Rebuilding Month, an annual month-long call to service to engage volunteers in an effort to complete repairs on homes, nonprofit facilities and community spaces.

"I want to thank our Super Bowl winning Denver Broncos for the fact that the service day is right here in Denver Colorado," said Mayor Hancock.

Mayor Roberts was all smiles during the event.

"Mayors learn from each other, cities learn from each other and in the end that makes all of us better," said Mayor Roberts.

Charlotte and Denver do a very good job when it comes to volunteering. The Charlotte area ranks in the top five for volunteering and service. Denver ranks 13th in volunteering among major U.S. cities.
