DENVER — Charges were filed against a man accused of attacking two women on separate occasion along the Highline Canal Trail.
Demarcus Bookhart, 25, was formally charged Friday of second and third-degree assault and robbery. He was also charged with failing to register as a sex offender.
Bookhart allegedly assaulted two women in separate attacks on August 18 and August 26 along the Jefferson County trail.
One of the women managed to get a picture of the suspect from behind as he ran off.
Bookhart's wife told Denver7 that her husband is innocent.
"I'm not going to let him fall for something that he did not do, and I know deep down in my heart that he didn't do," Diana Neyens-Bookhart said.
Bookhart was arrested Saturday.
