Cause of death for 4-year-old Andrew Clemons killed in fire was smoke inhalation, accidental

BRUSH, Colo. - Four-year-old Andrew Clemons, killed in a house fire on Easter, was examined by the Morgan County coroner and his death was ruled accidental.

Family members including the boy's mother, a 5-year-old sibling, grandmother and aunt were in the house when the fire broke out, but they were able to escape, according to Jim Crone from the Morgan County Sheriff's Office.

The little boy was found in a bedroom in the basement, firefighters said, but they were not able to reach him in time. The coroner stated that Andrew died of smoke inhalation and also had thermal injuries.

Investigators are still reviewing details of the incident to determine what caused the fire.
